Midnight in Shanghai
Homeless workers who work in the city during the week but, due to the high rents in the Asian economic metropolis, do not earn enough to afford accommodation. They usually only have a small bag with the bare necessities for the week, on which they sleep at night either at work or in the street. At weekends, they return to the family in the countryside with their earnings. One view of a metropolis at night. Shanghai, China, 2011
